Carol A. Buhman

Carol Ann Buhman, 82, of Guttenberg, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Jan. 9, at United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Neil Hofer. Visitation was before services at the church.

Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Carol was born on Sept. 20, 1936, in Allison, the daughter of John and Lydia Reiher.

Carol received her education at Allison-Bristow schools and later attended Flight Attendant School.  For many years, Carol worked as a customer service representative in the manufacturing industry.  On July 15, 1956, Carol was united in marriage with Darwin Buhman.  They made their home in Oelwein and once retired moved to Guttenberg to enjoy the river.

Carol obtained her pilots license and enjoyed flying with Darwin and her friends.  She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Iowa holding many offices.  She has always enjoyed social activities, bowling, playing cards or spending time with friends going to garage sales.  She has loved living and spending time on the Mississippi River.  She had so much enjoyment boating, spending time on the sand bars, waterskiing, and tubing with her kids and grandkids. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, Cheri (Ron) Reisner of Cedar Rapids, Sue Buhman of Kansas City, Kevin and Kendall Buhman of Marysville, Wash.; nine grandchildren, Dustin (Erin) Hemesath, Lindie (Ben) Spargo, Jonathon (Kristine) Carr, Michael and Steven Buhman, Mariah Buhman, Daniel Buhman, Greg (LeighAnn) Reisner and Eric (Mandy) Reisner; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Cole; brother, Loren (Kathy) Reiher; brother-in-law, Harold Buhman and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Rodney Buhman; husband, Darwin in 2013; two sisters and brother-in-laws, Ruth (LaVerne) Brocke and Phyllis (Lyle) Hanson and sister-in-law, Donna Buhman.
