On Sunday, Jan. 27, at 7:43 p.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a one-vehicle traffic crash on S. Water Street in the village of Eastman.

Dylan M. Krachey-Yahn, 21, Eastman, was operating a 2000 Ford F 250 southbound on S. Water Street from Sheridan Road when he lost control of his truck and struck a utility pole.

Krachey-Yahn was going up a slight hill and over accelerated which caused his rear tires to lose control. Krachey-Yahn struck a utility pole head-on causing a power outage to the southwest side of Eastman. Live power lines and transformers came down on the bed area of the truck. Many citizens reported seeing the Ford F250 operating in an unsafe manner on the snowy streets in Eastman before the crash occurred. Krachey-Yahn was cited for failure to maintain control and disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle.

Krachey-Yahn was uninjured in the crash. The vehicle sustained moderate damage. Assisting on scene were the Eastman Fire Department, Eastman First Responders, Eastman Village Works Department, Tri State EMS, the Wisconsin State Patrol and Alliant Energy.
