On Feb. 8, at approximately 2 a.m., Trevor Ferguson, 26, of Bloomington, was driving his 2009 Hyundai, south on Highway 35 in Patch Grove Township. Ferguson was negotiating a curve and lost control and drove across both lanes of Highway 35, before coming to rest in the opposite ditch. At 5 a.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 35, near Kansas Road.
Upon the deputy’s arrival, he noted there were open alcohol containers present in the passenger compartment of the vehicle and Ferguson failed to notify law enforcement that he had gone into the ditch. The sheriff’s office was able to make contact with Ferguson later that morning. Ferguson informed the deputy he lost control of his vehicle on the slick road and didn’t notify law enforcement. Ferguson was cited for open intoxicants, driving too fast for conditions, operating left of center, and fail to notify DMV of address change.
The vehicle was removed from the scene by B&M’s towing.
