Six all-conference selections for MFL MarMac girls

The Upper Iowa Conference Champion MFL MarMac girls basketball team was honored with six all-conference selections this year. Junior Bailey Winter and freshman Riley Moreland were tapped for the first team, while juniors RoseMary McGeough and Jordan Schubert received second team nods. Honorable mentions went to seniors Jayde Schubert and Summer Schutte.

Winter was the Bulldogs’ top scorer, racking up 16.1 points per game and shooting 58.5 percent from the field. She also averaged a team-high 6.3 rebounds. Her 70 steals and 55 assists were best on the team, and she was second in blocks, with 20.

Moreland averaged 10.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Defensively, she amassed 52 blocks—more than double her closest teammate. Moreland also swiped 50 steals and picked up 39 assists.

Jordan Schubert contributed 5.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game for the Bulldogs. She was among team leaders in steals and assists, with 34 and 33, respectively.

McGeough scored an average 4.9 points per game and brought down 2.6 rebounds. Her season state line also included 43 steals and 34 assists.

Jayde Schubert had 5.4 points per game, was second with 43 assists and nabbed 32 steals.

Schutte averaged 4.1 points per game, with much of her success coming from behind the arc, where she made a team-high 22 three-pointers.
