Wauzeka man arrested for 8th OWI
On May 16, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit, along with another deputy, conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville in the township of Seneca. The deputy identified the driver as Daniel Peters, 44, Wauzeka. Peters displayed signs of drug and alcohol impairment while on scene and was placed through an evaluation. A search of the vehicle yielded prescription medication, which was not prescribed to Peters.
Peters was subsequently placed under arrest for operating while under the influence of an intoxicant (eighth offense), operating with a restricted controlled substance (eighth offense), possession of a schedule II narcotic and a probation violation.
After being taken into custody, Peters vomited numerous times while being transported and had to be taken to Crossing Rivers Health where he was later admitted to the hospital.
