Prairie du Chien hosted a Division 2 track regional Monday afternoon.

In the girls meet, the 4x800 Relay (Huser, Ka. Jaynes, Katzung, Hager) got things rolling with a massive PR - 10:23.85 on the night and year. The girls took 5th place and just missed out on advancing to sectionals. I’m going as high as a kite on a timeless flight as Katzung nailed a career PR - 8’0” in the Pole Vault and 5th place. Like a shadow searching in the night, Ko. Jaynes found the light with a new career PR - 13.48 in the 100m and 4th place. Wait, hold onto that feeling, Ko. Jaynes picked up a second berth into sectionals with a 4th place finish in the 200m as well. Ka. Jaynes clicked her heels and said, “Let me dance for you.” and as the smoke cleared from her worn out shoes, Jaynes earned a sectional berth as well as a new career PR - 2:25.56.

Across the track, where the curve turns back, E. Hager picked up 13th place and J. Jenks picked up 15th place in the 1600m run. When my days have come to an end, I will understand. What I left behind is a part of me, A. Huser handed out tickets to the show and finished one more 3200m run for her long career with an 8th place finish tonight. Daze dreamin’ again, Pink made an appearance and that Crazy Diamond sparkled bright tonight as F. Dillman popped a new PR - 16.37 in the 100 High Hurdles for 2nd place. Floyd says don’t give in without a fight and open your heart as I’m coming to the finish line with another sectional berth in the 300 Hurdles. Dillman finished in 3rd place with a 49.71. Hey You, out there on the track, the 4x200 relay (Nicholson, LaRocque, Nolan, Rickleff) hit a season PR - 2:03.32 and took 8th place. The 4x100 relay (Nicholson, Nolan, Teynor, Rickleff) also picked up points tonight with another 8th place finish.

Now we just run in awe as the 4x400 relay (Dillman, Ka. Jaynes, Nolan, Schneider) also picked up a season-best PR - 4:34.24 and 8th place. You must have seen her dancing in the sand as H. Martin will be heading to sectionals as she jumped her way to a 2nd place finish in the Long Jump as well as an 8th place finish in the High Jump. A. Nolan also finished tied for 9th in the Long Jump. Is this the end or just the beginning? Senior L. Nicholson ended her career with a 12th place finish in the Triple Jump. She will be passing the torch onto sophomore M. Katzung who finished 10th in the Triple Jump on the evening. Nicholson also picked up 12th place in the 100 High Hurdles tonight. To chase a feather in the wind, E. Keene finished her freshman debut year by making finals in the discus, finishing in 9th place, and ending the night on a new career PR - 87’5”. I pulled into Prairie du Chien tonight and needed a place to hang my kryptonite as C. Teynor made the finals and pounded out a massive PR - 29’6.25” and 9th place in the Shot Put and also picked up 13th place in discus on the evening. There’s something happening here as N. Rickleff also picked up an 11th place in Shot Put tonight. Senior M. LaRocque finished her year with a 13th place in the 300 Hurdles. She too will be passing the torch to sophomore P. Schneider who finished 14th on the evening in the 300 Hurdles as well.

Everything I know, and everywhere I throw could be my last. And when the last one falls and all is said and done, nope not yet! Senior G. Ritchie picked up 4th place in the Shot and is heading to yet another sectional final. Ritchie also finished 7th in the Discus on the night. It seems that I have found the finish line and as I am down to my last breath, H. Martin finished in 11th place with A. Geisler right behind her in 15th place in the 100m dash on the evening.

In the boys meet, R. Gonzalez got things rolling with a 13th place finish in the 200m dash. Let’s run together, shoulder to shoulder as H. Nettesheim, J. Gourdin, and T. O’Brien all picked up 13th, 14th, and 15th place respectively in the 400m run.  O’Brien also ended his freshman year with a new PR - 1:04.39 as well. To reach deep inside and to feel free, S. DeHart pounded out a huge new PR - 11:43.06 in the 3200m run to end his freshman year.

Dawn is breaking and shedding a new light as M. Anthony also hit a new PR - 12:02.17 on the evening in the 3200m run. Who am I to make you wait as L. Steiger continued the 3200m trend and also hit a new PR - 12:25.90 to end his freshman year. We just close our eyes and envision the finish line. The 4x100 relay (Drinkwine, Hornseth, Gonzalez, L. Nettesheim) picked up 8th place. We will never break the chain as the 4x200m relay (Drinkwine, Hornseth, L. Nettesheim, Gonzalez) also picked up 8th place on the night. Listen to the wind blow, watch the sunrise, down comes the night as B. Teynor picked up sectional berths in both the 110 High Hurdles and 300 Hurdles. You can go your own way, but I’m leaving tomorrow behind and R. Wall placed 6th in the Pole Vault and 7th in Discus.

Well, another crazy day, I had no doubt in my mind I could do a little magic as J. Johnson hit 7th place in the Shot Put and 10th in Discus in his first regional meet. Lay me on the ground, fly me to the sky as T. O’Brien picked up 13th tonight in the Triple Jump. Jumping is in the water, jumping is in the air as H. Nettesheim picked up 11th place in the Long Jump.
