Bradley Anderson was among the kids at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Library’s “A Universe of Stories” Storytime Friday morning. With the moon as his backdrop, he completed an electronic snap circuit, which made a little flying saucer go high into the sky. Assistant Librarian Caitlin Bittner read “What If Mercury Had Marshmallows?” and then more than 30 kids enjoyed games, crafts and a couple experiments, including a volcanic eruption. Youth attending storytime at 9:30 a.m. Fridays or at 5 p.m. Wednesdays can gain 30 minutes on their summer reading time logs, as well as a stamp for their universe cards. If you haven’t already, stop into the library and sign up for the summer reading program. (Photos by Correne Martin)

The programming at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Library children’s library is “out of this world” this summer. Pictured, some of the young Storytime attendees Friday morning were mesmerized by the different objects that could be used to make “craters” in a box of glittery sand. For more details about upcoming programs, find the library on Facebook.
