On Saturday, June 8, at 12:35 p.m., Alice Westgard, 58, of Monroe, was driving her 2010 Jeep Liberty and pulling a 2019 Jayco Camper, east on Hwy. 18 in the Village of Monfort. Westgard was turning south onto Hwy. 80 when Elizabeth Brokkmann, 25, of Patch Grove, was looking at her GPS on her cell phone and did not see Westgard slowing to make a right turn. Brokkmann struck the rear end of the camper and caused moderate damage to Brokkmann’s 2007 Chevy Equinox and the camper.
Brokkmann was cited for Inattentive Driving. All parties involved were evaluated by Monfort EMS at the scene.
