There is a new business in Prairie du Chien and it is aiming to help pet owners find a healthy alternative for their furry best friends.

Lovin Paw’s Nutrition Center (located at Nathan Plaza) aims to provide a healthier alternative for pets’ health. “It broke my heart to hear about the lack of FDA regulations on pet food. At Lovin Paw’s, we are all about the animal and finding quality food for them,” said owner Cathy Conant.

“Around here, pet owners did not have a good variety of places to buy nutritional food for their pets. We look to offer a different option for them,” Conant added.

Lovin Paw’s also sells homemade Green Tree Paws cannabidiol-based products, which help relieve pets’ stress levels, and Wild Thyme natural soap bars that are made with organic products and essential oils.

Another service that is offered at Lovin Paw’s is a dog grooming service and a doggy day care. With the day care, owners have an option for their pooch to have other dogs their size to play with and sleep with, as well as, have three human companions all day to be around them. Hours for the day care are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The grooming is done by Ann Wild, of Wild Paw Doodles. She offers full grooming packages for large and small breeds. There are also ala carte services such as nail trimming, a bath and blow out and  maintenance plans as well.

Lovin Paw’s also provides a personal yard sanitation cleanup service for dog owners who live within a five-mile radius from the store.

Future plans include adding mobile grooming and a pet taxi.

As Lovin Paw’s is still in the beginning stages of its business, Conant said she wants to hear from the community. “We really want to hear from our customers to find out what it is they want and how we can help them,” she said.

In the coming weeks, Conant said there will be a ribbon cutting grand opening and their new sign should be placed soon.
