Three area residents are accused of drug possession and related charges following a bust last Wednesday night in Crawford County, according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.

On July 10, at about 7:50 p.m., a county sheriff’s deputy and the county K-9 unit made contact with a suspicious vehicle parked near the intersection of Boma Ridge Road and Highway 27 in the town of Utica. The driver was identified as Edward Lemay, 33, of De Soto. Deputies observed numerous indicators of narcotics impairment while interacting with Lemay. It was discovered that he had a revoked driver’s license in Wisconsin.

There were two passengers inside of the vehicle who were identified as Lora Lemay, 53, of De Soto, and Kimberly Sheehan, 49, of Vernon County.

K9 Breck was deployed around the exterior of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of controlled substances inside. A search was conducted and numerous used hypodermic needles, controlled substances (pills), baggies containing a white crystal substance and THC were located. The crystal substance tested positive for methamphetamine. During the search, Lora Lemay attempted to throw a syringe containing suspected meth into an area with tall grass. Sheehan had concealed items on herself, which consisted of a bag containing a large amount of grey powder. The powder is suspected to be fentanyl.

It was determined that Edward Lemay was under the influence of heroin and is currently on bond through Dane County for narcotics-related charges. He was transported to the Crawford County Jail and is charged with operating with a restricted controlled substance-second offense, operating after revocation and felony bail jumping.

Lora Lemay and Sheehan were also transported to the Crawford County Jail. Lora is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing. Sheehan is currently on probation for narcotics-related charges and has numerous outstanding warrants. She is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of THC (felony), possession of a controlled substance, possession of a schedule II narcotic and violation of her probation.
