The Clayton Ridge School District board of directors met in an afternoon session on July 11 at the high school library in Guttenberg.

Vice-president Christine Aulwes called the meeting to order with board members Mike Finnegan, Kathy Ihde, Ellen Johnson and Alicia Helle in attendance, along with Superintendent Shane Wahls and board secretary Dave Schlueter.

The superintendent reported on meeting with the new principal, Laura Bilden. He also discussed setting district goals, summer school and the Professional Learning Communities institute.

Ty Troutman was hired as a teacher associate and activities director; Tom Kraus was hired as a bus driver, and Steve Hoff as junior high football coach.

Revisions to the building handbooks were approved, as was a revised school safety plan.

A bid of $16,405 from Wille Construction was accepted for a sidewalk project at the elementary school.

The board okayed an increase in pay for activity bus drivers, and approved a leasing agreement for two Blue Bird buses.

A computer software purchase of $11,272 was okayed.

The board went into closed session for the annual evaluation of the superintendent.
