Family fun for everyone at 161st Crawford County Fair

There are a lot of thrills and smiles for all who attend the Crawford County Fair.

 

There will be plenty of family fun for everyone at the 161st annual Crawford County Fair to be held from Aug. 22-25 at the Crawford County Fairgrounds in Gays Mills.

There will be many animal shows and exhibits daily as well as live music and the numerous fun rides for children of all ages at the ever-popular carnival.

Shows include Buddy Holly, Nick’s Kids’ Show, and The Magic of Jim Mitchell.

Everyone is invited to join the fun on Thursday, Aug. 22 for the Grilled Cheese Contest at 6 p.m. and the Tractor and Truck Pull Show at the Grandstand at 7 p.m.

On Friday, Eric Paslay will get toes a tappin’ at 7 p.m. The opening act will be Nora Collins.

On Saturday, there will be a 5K Run-Walk hosted by the Nifty Neighbors 4-H Club at 8:30 a.m. The Antique Tractor Pull featuring area antique tractors will get engines roaring, smoke belching and hearts pounding beginning at 11 a.m. At 7 p.m., fair goers are all invited to go to the grandstand for the ever popular, smashing, crunching, grinding excitement of the Demolition Derby where cars destroy cars.

On Sunday, the Ranch Rodeo will feature Ridge and Valley Rodeo Club horse riders, barrel racers and ropers.

At noon, the talent show will kick off with music by Class of ‘62, featuring “The Surf Boys.”

There will be free activities for kids and great food, youth and open exhibits, animal shows and excellent entertainment throughout the fair. An All Day Medallion Hunt will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Advance tickets can be purchased at the fairgrounds on Aug. 20-22.
