Bryce Bird has been hired by the Prairie du Chien School District to become the district’s new superintendent. Bird is replacing former superintendent Robert Smudde who is leaving for the Dodgeville School District.
Bird is a 1976 graduate of Seneca High School. He is coming to Prairie du Chien from the Riverdale School District where he was district administrator.
Bird was the PK-12 principal at Wauzeka-Steuben from 1999-2001. He was then district administrator at Wauzeka-Steuben from 2001-2006.
“Bryce has an excellent track record with the Wauzeka-Steuben and Riverdale school districts,” said Prairie du Chien School Board President Lonnie Achenbach. “Bryce will be an excellent fit for the Prairie du Chien School District. He has the experience and knowledge to help us meet our scholastic and financial needs.”
