Frances “Fran” Troester, 76, of Guttenberg died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital in Guttenberg. 

Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 13, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Marvin Bries. Visitation was before services at the church. 

Interment was at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Guttenberg.

Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Fran was born on Jan. 27, 1943, in Cedar Rapids to Leonard and Margaret (Boyd) Brush. 

Fran received her education in Cedar Falls and graduated with the class of 1961. On June 26, 1965, Fran was united in marriage to Al Troester at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guttenberg. Later the couple was blessed with two children Tina and Sherrie.

In her free time Fran enjoyed doing a few craft projects, drawing, snapping photos here and there (most were of her family and grandchildren), spending time with the ladies of her coffee club, and last of all her passion for shopping. 

Fran leaves behind her husband of 54 years, Al; daughter Tina Troester (Mike Russell); five grandchildren, Tierney, Marisa, and Lindsey Russell, Tyler and Kamden Casey; son-in-law, Brian Casey; sister, Bernice Heyer, and many other relatives and friends.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sherrie; grandson, Zachary; sisters, Marilyn, Karen, and Shirley, brothers-in-law, Darell Recob and Jim Heyer.

In lieu of flowers and all styles of sympathy, memorials may be sent to P.O. Box 397, Guttenberg, IA 52052.
