How does one activate “the runners high?” Is it fact or myth? Just ask the Prairie du Chien boys cross country team as they have continued the addiction in racking up PR times at Kickapoo Invitationals, and they did it again Thursday.
There is magic in misery as Spencer DeHart fought back from an injury a couple weeks ago to nail down a 19:37 in his first meet back as well as picking up 28th place. Fly like an eagle and let my spirit carry me as Max Anthony turned in his best time ever and a new PR-19:55 to finish in 35th place.
Kick off your shoes, start losing the blues as this old boy has nothing to lose. Bryce Priebe had a great run and picked up 37th and a new PR- 20:13 on the evening. Walkin’ up the course, you can hear the sound of one bad honky tonker, really layin’ it down as Corbin Reade hammered out his best finish and time of his young career. Corbin picked up 52nd place with a new career PR- 21:30.
Ryan Wall picked up a painful 56th place as he injured himself early in the run. I’ll keep gettin’ up when I hit the ground and I won’t let my team down as Ryan continued to the finish line so his team could get a team score on the night. The boys finished in eighth place.
