Patricia “Pat” Marie Colsch, 71, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019, at Prairie Maison in Prairie du Chien.

She was born on Oct. 6, 1948, at Vernon Memorial Hospital to Clayton and Harriett (Eckern) Fish. Pat grew up near Viroqua, where she attended and graduated from Viroqua School in 1966. She married David Kansier, and four children were born to this union. They later divorced. Pat then married Darrel Colsch, they later divorced but reunited.

Pat was not afraid of hard work. She grew up farming and working in the tobacco fields. Throughout her life, she worked at Vernon Memorial Hospital, Viroqua Leaf, Prairie Maison and Go America. Pat loved spending time with her family and her animals. She enjoyed cooking, devoted her life to caring for others, and always had an open door. She was the most caring, loving individual and will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.

Pat is survived by her four children, Perry (Dawn) Kansier of Eastman, Jerry (Lynette) Kansier of Monona, Iowa, Chasidi Kansier (significant other Michael) of Prairie du Chien, Chad (Kimberly) Kansier of Lynxville; her significant other, Darrell Colsch of Mt. Sterling; special niece, Kryssi Streicher of Monona, Iowa; 27 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Janice Smith and Rachel Coulter; grandson Darin Kansier; and great-nephew Dominick Streicher.

Per Pat’s wishes, a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. The Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center is assisting the family with arrangements.
