Dennis D. Mueller, 77, of DeWitt, died Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at Genesis Medical Center-DeWitt.

A celebration of life open house was held Saturday, Nov. 16, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt.

Denny was born Nov. 5, 1942, to Harold and Ivanell (Breitsprecher) Mueller in Garnavillo. After graduating from Garnavillo High School Denny served in the U.S. Army. He worked for John Deere Davenport Works for 40 years.

Denny was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt, where he enjoyed singing in the choir, the Donahue Sportsman’s Club, Donahue Volunteer Fire Department, and the Larry M. Gronewold American Legion, Donahue. He was also a member of the UAW Local 281. Denny was an avid Hawkeye football fan who rarely missed a home game and cherished watching them with his children.

He is survived by his daughter, Kendra Mueller, and son, Keaton (Shalyn) Mueller and their daughter, Lincoln, all of DeWitt; siblings, Kay (Lynn) Ihde, Kathy (Wayne) Helle, Sue (Lee) Connell, Bruce (Bonnie) Mueller, Amy Wrightsman, Heidi (Charles) Berns; a sister-in-law, Mary Mueller; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David and Craig, and a nephew, Troy.
