Betty Steiber, 93, of Lansing, Iowa, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2019, at Thornton Manor, Lansing, Iowa. 

Betty was born on Sept. 10, 1926, to Dewey and Lula (Brockmeyer) Gramlich. 

She graduated from Lansing High School in 1943. Following school, she worked at the Lansing Button Factory for three years. Betty was united in marriage with Bernard Steiber on June 8, 1946, at the E.U.B. Church in Lansing. After a honeymoon to Chicago, they farmed together for 55 years. She was a stay-at-home mom but was always busy with caring for the children, helping with things on the farm and raising a big garden, including strawberry and raspberry patches, which she loved to share with family, neighbors and friends. Betty was involved in many groups and activities over the years for her church, Farm Bureau, volunteer at Thornton Manor, balance class and bowling. She loved to bake and serve others. Her favorite TV shows were Iowa Hawkeye basketball, Wheel of Fortune and the Lawrence Welk Show. 

Survivors include four children, Monte (Ann) Steiber of Prairie du Chien, Neal (Debbie) Steiber of Lansing, Iowa, Nancy (Bruce) Novak of Mesquite, Texas, and Robin (Robert) Hyde of Plymouth, Minn; seven grandchildren, Marc (Tabitha) Steiber, Adam (Beth) Steiber, Kris Steiber, Chad (Rachael) Steiber, Ross (Kim) Steiber, Ryan (Amber) Novak and Rachel (Troy) McMillen; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley (Harold) Marti; and many nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Lula Gramlich; husband, Bernard; and brother, Mit (Belva) Gramlich. 

Memorials can be given to Lansing United Methodist Church or Thornton Manor Nursing Home. Visitation was Monday morning, Dec. 2, at United Methodist Church in Lansing, Iowa. Funeral services followed at the church. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, in Lansing, Iowa. 

Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Lansing, Iowa, assisted the family.
