Gladys LaVina (Davidson) Georgeson passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019, at the Guttenberg Care Center in Guttenberg.

Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 21, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, Belvidere, Ill., conducted by Patrick Anderson. Visitation was before services  at the funeral home.

Burial was at Long Prairie Cemetery in Capron, Ill.

There will be a celebration of life in Guttenberg at a later date.

Gladys was born on March 16, 1925, to Thomas and Clara Bern Davidson in Spring Valley, Wis.  She attended schools in Wisconsin and Illinois. She married Kenneth N. Georgeson on Nov. 4, 1942, in Capron, Ill. Two daughters were born to this union: Connie and Linda.

Gladys worked for many years at Edenfruit Products, Poplar Grove, Ill., until they closed, and then she worked at Harvard Farms in Harvard, Ill. until she retired in 1992. She was a member of Capron Lutheran Church since 1937. She moved to Guttenberg in May of 2005 where she made many new friends and enjoyed going to St. John’s Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her daughter Connie (Gary) Backes, Guttenberg; three granddaughters, Sonja (Chris) Carmon, Cambridge, Jeanine (Paul) Lovell, Cresco, Melody Countryman, Ashton, Ill., and one special great-granddaughter, Hannah Carmon, Cambridge; her sister, Thelma Melquist, Rockford, Ill.; relatives in Norway and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased in death by her husband on April 30, 1993; her parents; a sister; two brothers; her daughter Linda Countryman, her grandson, Eric Countryman and two nieces and one nephew.
