The first baby born in Prairie du Chien in 2020 is Luna Fae Hogan, who came into this world at 6:02 a.m., Jan. 1. Proud parents are Skyla and Sean Hogan of Prairie du Chien.
Luna Fae was 18.5 inches long and weighed six pounds, seven ounces.
The delivering provider at Crossing Rivers Health was Terri Payne, a certified nurse midwife and family nurse practitioner from Crossing Rivers Health Clinic.
Luna Fae has four siblings. Conner, 16; Madyson, 15; Alice and Gauge Alexander. Peter Lindquist of Arkansas is the paternal grandfather. Steven Hyer of Prairie du Chien is the maternal grandfather.
Luna Fae’s uncles include Kadon and Patrick. Aunts include Cassidy and Medena.
“She (Skyla) was absolutely terrific during the delivery of Luna Fae,” said a smiling Sean.
As the first baby of the new year, the family received gifts from area businesses along with the Courier Press.
Because they were the only expecting parents at the hospital on New Year’s Eve, Skyla and Sean had a good hunch they were going to have the first baby of the new year in Prairie du Chien, and Luna arrived on her expected due date.
“She’s famous already. She’s a rock star,” said a beaming Sean as he and glowing Skyla tenderly held their newborn child, Luna Fae.
