Clayton County residents will join Iowans from across the state on Monday, Feb. 3, as the nation turns its attention to the results of the Iowa Presidential caucuses.

Voters from approximately 1,700 voting precincts across the state will meet to select delegates to their respective county conventions. The 99 county conventions will then choose delegates for state party conventions, who  in turn will subsequently head to the national conventions later this year.

In addition to selecting delegates and alternates, other business to be discussed at caucuses include adoption of proposed resolutions to add to county platforms and the election of precinct representatives to the county central committees.

Anyone who will be 18 by the time of the presidential election on Nov. 3 is eligible to participate. Those attending must be registered as a Republican or Democrat — those who haven't already registered (or would like to change their party affiliation) can do so on caucus night.
