On Feb. 6, at 11:20 p.m., a deputy of the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office made a traffic stop in the city of Boscobel for a violation that occurred in Crawford County.

The deputy made contact with the driver and identified him as Xai Vang, 25, La Crosse.

A passenger refused to identify himself. It was determined that Vang was on active bond through La Crosse County for recent drug-related charges. Vang was issued citations for operating after suspension and no insurance.

The Boscobel K-9 Unit responded to the parking lot and performed a K-9 sniff of the vehicle. The K-9 alerted to the presence of controlled substances within the vehicle. Vang and his passenger, later identified as Nemo Yang, 22, Holmen, were detained and an interior search of the vehicle was conducted. During the vehicle search, 17 grams of a white crystal-like substance, which tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine, was located in the vehicle. Also located in the vehicle were smoking devices used to ingest meth, a small amount of suspected marijuana, a digital scale and several empty zip lock baggies.

Vang and Yang were placed under arrest and charged with possession of meth, possession of meth paraphernalia, possession with intent to deliver more than 10 grams and felony bail jumping. In addition, Yang had active warrants through La Crosse County for several pending criminal charges. Both subjects were transported to the Crawford County jail.

Assisting with this investigation was the Boscobel Police Department.
