Brenda A. Thornton-Cipra, of Prairie du Chien, passed away peacefully on her 45th birthday, Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020. at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien.

She was born Feb. 9, 1975, in Waukon, Iowa, the daughter of Michael and Barbara (Thornton) Burr. 

Brenda worked at the Hungry House in Prairie du Chien for the past 20 years. She was an avid Brewers, Packers and Hawkeyes fan. She enjoyed Nascar and was a big supporter of Prairie du Chien athletics. She also loved fishing and spending time on the river. 

She is survived by her children, Jordan, Frankie, Caeleb Cipra and Spencer Scoville; her parents, Mike Burr and Barb Burr; her siblings, Melissa (Jeff) Marshall, Steve Burr and Sarah King; numerous nieces and nephews; along with her faithful companion, Raleigh.

Funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 14, at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Prairie du Chien, with Pastor Cheryl Weaver officiating. A private family interment will be at a later date. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. (Wear your favorite Brewers Gear.) In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. 

The Garrity Funeral Home, of Prairie du Chien, is assisting the family.
