Driver arrested for 3rd OWI
A Mt. Hope man was arrested for a third offense OWI, among other citations, midday on Feb. 12, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
Just before 11:15 a.m., a sheriff’s deputy was operating his fully marked squad car northbound on County X in Wyalusing Township near Borhringer Lane. The deputy noticed there was a 2013 Ford F150 traveling south. The vehicle, operated by Daniel Meyers, 59, came around a corner and traveled across the center line. The deputy avoided a crash, got turned around and subsequently stopped Meyers for operating left of center.
It was discovered Meyers had a loaded .17 HMR rifle in the front seat and had been drinking. After field sobriety Meyers was arrested for a third offense OWI and being armed while intoxicated. He was booked into Grant County Jail. Meyers was also cited for open intoxicants in the vehicle and operating left of center.
