It is now more important than ever that area residents support their local businesses. Due to recent concerns over the spread of Covid-19 many area retailers and restaurants have had to re-think how they serve the public.
On March 17 Gov. Kim Reynolds issued a State of Public Health Disaster Emergency activating the public health response and recovery aspects of the State Disaster Emergency Plan.
Significant steps were taken requiring social distancing and limiting community spread of Covid-19 by implementing temporary measures including moving restaurants to drive-through, carry-out, and delivery-only and closures of certain entities such as bars and recreational facilities. Further measures were taken to include beauty salons, massage and spa services, clothing, shoe, gift and furniture stores.
Many Guttenberg and Garnavillo restaurants and businesses that are deemed necessary have decided to remain open. The following is a list of advertisers and their updated services.
Bill's Boat Landing
Bill's Boat Landing, located at 101 S. Front St., Clayton, is open for business Tues. and Wed. 3 - 8 p.m.; Thurs. 10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. and 4 - 8 p.m.; Fri. 10:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.; Sat. 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Sun. 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. Bill's is offering curbside pickup, carry-out and delivery to Clayton, Garnavillo, McGregor and Guttenberg. Bootleggers River Tavern
Bootleggers River Tavern, located at 36835 Noble Rd., Highway 52 South, Millville, is offering curbside pick up, carry-out and limited delivery. Bootleggers hours have temporarily changed. They are now open Sun. - Thurs. 11 a.m. -7 p.m. and Fri. and Sat. 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. "During the pandemic we are offering a free domestic tall boy or can of soda with each entree or pizza purchase," said the owners. Community Savings Bank, located at 502 South Highway 52, Guttenberg, is open for business. Their lobby doors are locked, but services are available at their drive-up window.
