Beverly J. Kelly, 86, of Prairie du Chien, Wis., formerly of Elkader died Sunday, April 12, 2020, at the Guttenberg Care Center in Guttenberg.

There will be no visitation. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elkader assisted the family.

Beverly was born Nov. 26, 1933, to Earl and Mildred (Jewell) Sterling at her grandparent’s home in Edgewood. She was baptized at the Methodist Church in Edgewood. She received her education at country schools and graduated in May 1951 from Elkader High School, Elkader.

Bev was united in marriage with Alto Kelly on Feb. 17, 1952. The first two years of their marriage, she was able to travel with Alto who was in the Army. Two children were born to this union, Deborah and Randy. She held different jobs during this time. In 1967, they moved to Elkader and farmed until retirement. Beverly was also employed as a Clayton County Dispatcher and was an Avon sales lady for 25 years. Bev enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to auctions, going to the Eagle’s Club and her family, especially attending great-grandchildren’s activities.

Surviving Beverly is her grandson, Scott (Becky) Kelly of Guttenberg; great-grandchildren, Alisha, Trevor, Dustin and Kayla.

Bev was preceded in death by her husband; her two children, Deborah Kelly and Randy Kelly; her parents and her special aunt, Esther Goering.
