Motorcyclist dies in Woodman crash
A former Boscobel man died in a motorcycle accident in Woodman Monday, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department.
At about 3:10 p.m., dispatch took a call about a motorcycle over an embankment along Highway 133, between County K and County C. Ernest Reynolds, 65, of La Crosse and formerly Boscobel, was operating his 2006 Harley Davidson on the highway just north of County C. While negotiating a corner, the bike left the roadway, went down an embankment, struck a tree, and went through a barbed wire fence.
Ernest was ejected from the motorcycle and landed a short distance from the motorcycle. The motorcycle came to rest against a tree. Ernest was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Grant County coroner.
Highway 133 was closed for a short time due to the crash. Assisting at the scene were the Woodman First Responders, Mt. Hope Fire Department, Boscobel Rescue Squad and Terry’s Tire and Tow. The crash remains under investigation.
This is the second fatality crash in Grant County for 2020.
