Sodes Green Acre, located at 7 Goethe Street in Guttenberg, has re-opened after briefly closing its doors in compliance to recommendations by Gov. Kim Reynolds in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The restaurant, gift shop, gourmet store and liquor store has something for everyone. Sodes is open Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Cafe serving hours are from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.  

Sodes Green Acre Cafe

Sodes Green Acre Cafe offers a full breakfast and lunch menu. Nestled in the middle of Guttenberg's historic downtown district, casual diners can eat inside the cafe or outside on Sodes inviting patio overlooking views of the Mississippi River. 

The cafe offers a tasty selection of breakfast options, build-your-own omelets, and biscuits smothered in gravy. Lunch includes a daily lunch special, homemade soup choices, burgers, tenderloins, chicken and fish fillets, all served on a freshly-baked bun, and wraps. 

For the lighter appetite Sodes' offers chicken oriental, taco, feta, fruit and nut, and chef salad bowls. All entrees are served with or without a side. Choices include hand-cut or sweet potato fries, onion rings, cheese curds, lettuce side salad, or homemade salad. For an extra special treat dig into a platter of Sodes' nacho grande. 

Don't forget to save room for dessert! Specialty treats include cheesecake, key lime pie, bourbon pecan pie, apple pie, deep-fried cheesecake, flour-less chocolate torte and chocolate lava cake. 

Gift shop

The gift shop has something for everyone. The inventory includes Iowa-made gifts, jewelry, frames, Milk House Candles, educational children's books, puzzles, games, crafts, and plush toys and many other one-of-a-kind gift items. 

Gourmet Store

The Gourmet Store is home to locally-produced honey, syrup, and sorghum. The store carries a variety of pickled foods, dips, glazes, salsa, jams and spreads. They house a full line of Watkins spices and natural personal care products. An additional assortment of Republic of Tea, Edgewood Locker meats, Deep Blue Seafood and Sodes' famous homemade take-and-bake meals. 

Liquor Store

The Liquor Store boasts the best selection of wine, spirits, craft beer and shooters in Guttenberg. They have a selection of over 120 different wines from six local vendors and national brands. Many Iowa produced spirits can be found, including Cedar Ridge, 3 Oaks, Cat's Eye, Paradise and Iowish. Sodes Green Acre is where you will find the newest products Iowa has to offer.
