Dairy royalty named
The Crawford County Dairy Promoters, this week, announced its candidates for this year’s Crawford County Dairy Royalty contests.
The 2020 Dairy Princess Candidate is Kayla Beers, a junior at Wauzeka-Steuben High School, where she is involved in FFA and Science Club. Kayla lives on an 872-acre dairy farm, in rural Steuben.
The 2020 Little Miss Squirt candidates are:
Johanna Sime, an 8-year-old second grader at Seneca Elementary School. She lives on a 240-acre dairy farm in rural Mt. Sterling.
Kaylee Jelinek is 10 years old and going into fifth grade at North Crawford School. She lives on a 300-head dairy goat farm near Gays Mills.
The contest judging was held June 8. The coronation will be Saturday, June 13, at the Boscobel Farmers Market at 9 a.m. There will be a short program with comments from last year’s royalty: 2019 Crawford County Dairy Princess Regan Kramer, 2019 Crawford County Lil Miss Squirt Lorelai Young and her Attendant Breckyn Schlee.
