Marilyn Groom, of Boscobel, formerly of Steuben, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020, with family by her side. 

Marilyn was born on April 18, 1932, to Clarence and Algie Spry. She graduated from Boscobel High School in 1949. She married Tom Groom in April 1951. Tom passed away in June 2008. Marilyn loved music, including The Lawrence Welk Show. She could play a mean game of euchre and 500. She was a good cook and pie maker. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. 

Marilyn is survived by sons Gary (Lynn), (Lynn’s children Mandy, Chris, Jesse and Cody), Jon, Blaine (Blaine’s children Aaron and Candi); and daughter Meg Peterson (John, and children Andrew and Logan). She is also survived by great-grandchildren Avery, Emma and Frankie; sister, Joan Raffel; and sister-in-law, Madonna Groom; along with many nieces and nephews. 

A private family service will be held due to COVID-19, with a celebration of Marilyn’s life at a later date.
