Prairie schools stay with cohorts
By Ted Pennekamp
During its regular meeting Monday night, the Prairie du Chien School Board decided to stay with the “cohorts” instruction plan, which the school district has been in since returning from winter break.
The board will continue to monitor the pandemic situation and will look at the instruction plan at future board meetings. The choices considered include having all virtual learning, having a cohorts plan, or having five-day-per-week face-to-face instruction.
In other business, the ballot order for the April 6 School Board election was chosen. There are three seats up for election. Each seat is for a three-year term. The ballot order will be newcomer Dustin L. Brewer, incumbent Board President Lonnie Achenbach, incumbent Thomas F. Peterson, and incumbent Michael D. Higgins Jr. The top three vote getters will be elected to the school board.
In further business, the board accepted the resignations of Gary Morovits, David Antoniewicz, Tammy Antoniewicz, Lynn Larson, Dawn McCoy, Scott Gordon, and Karen Sjoberg. The resignations will be effective at the end of the 2020-2021 school year.
