Randy Alan Morarend, 59, of Edgewood, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at his home.

Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 20, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Strawberry Point.

Memorial services with Military Rites will follow the visitation at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 concerns, masks are required at the funeral home.

Private family inurnment will occur at a later date.

Randy was born on May 27, 1961, at the Guttenberg Hospital, completing the family of Delois and Lois (White) Morarend. Randy was a graduate of Central High School in Elkader. Shortly after graduating, Randy served honorably in the United States Army. 

Randy lived in Colorado for a short period of time. He then moved back to the home farm where he farmed with his brother, Neil. After that, Randy moved to Lamont where he worked for Bob Smith Plumbing. Due to medical reasons, he moved to St. Cloud, Minn., and then to Brooten, Minn. After a change in his health, Randy returned to this area and lived at Yankee Settlement in Edgewood. 

Left to mourn his passing are his three siblings, David (Kris) Morarend of Strawberry Point, Neil (Carol Moser) Morarend of Guttenberg, and Barbara (Rollie) Totman of Edgewood; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents.
