Community memories...Olinger shares recollections

Nonagenarian Ann Olinger was born in 1920. She recently celebrated her 99th birthday. She currently resides in a comfortable spacious room at the River Living Center in Guttenberg.

JoAnn Helen (Lake) Auer, 87, of Guttenberg, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019. 

Funeral services were Thursday, Oct. 3, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Marvin Bries. Visitation was before services at the church.

Inurnment was at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Guttenberg.

Louise H. Ludovissy

Louise Hanna Ludovissy, 93, of Guttenberg, passed away peacefully in Monticello surrounded by her girls, on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019. 

Visitation was Sunday, Sept. 29, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg and before service at the church.

Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 30, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, North Buena Vista, conducted by Rev. Marvin Bries.

Patrick M. Hines

Patrick Michael Hines, 54, passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Funeral services were Friday, Sept. 27, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Gary Hatcher. Visitation was before services at the church.

Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Lakeside to be inducted in the MAMA Hall of Fame


An old postcard reflects the beauty and glamour of Guttenberg's historic Lakeside Ballroom. The dance hall will be inducted into the Midwest All Music Association (MAMA) on Saturday, Oct. 5. The event will take place at the Ponderosa Ballroom in Waldorf.
