Rivers & Bluffs Animal Shelter (RABAS) was recently the recipient of generous donations from an anonymous contributor as well as two local businesses.
A $20,000 donation was made by a benefactor who wishes to remain anonymous. This donation will greatly help the organization with final preparations, said Bev Pozega, RABAS vice-president.
The Prairie du Chien Tractor Supply Store donated three large boxes filled with dog items, including collars, harnesses, leashes and tie-outs, plus a number of miscellaneous supplies. According to store manager, Gene Gerndt, the value of the donated items was about $1,000.
Prairie du Chien MPC employees also sponsored a RABAS collection drive. MPC employees collected three large boxes of items to be used at the animal shelter. Supplies included copy paper, towels, dog beds, garbage bags, cleaning products and dog toys. In addition to the donated materials, they raised $250 for Rivers and Bluffs Animal Shelter.
