Annual Emma Big Bear History Day will be July 2 in Marquette

Bulldogs add four more wins heading into final week of the regular season

Parker Kuehl’s RBI-double was one of the key hits in the Bulldogs’ 7-2 win against the Trojans on June 20.

Jacob Schellhorn limited the Trojan offense to six hits, one walk and a hit batter, along with two earned runs, over seven innings. He fanned nine batters in last week's victory.

Sandra M. Engen

Sandra Marie (Knutson) Engen, 61, of McGregor, died Friday, June 17, 2022, at her home in McGregor. Sandy was born on March 31, 1961, in Prairie du Chien, Wis. She was raised in Prairie du Chien by her hardworking mother. Childhood memories are many with her three sisters and two brothers, as well as several close cousins who grew up close as well. Sandy became a mother early on in her life, which proved to be her biggest blessing. Oct. 15, 1983 marked a marriage with Kenneth Gordon Engen which lasted 38 years.

Jere Gene Probert, 86, of Wadena, died Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the Hiawatha Care Center in Hiawatha. Jere Probert was born June 20, 1935, in Wadena. He joined an older brother, William Frank Probert, as the only children of William Vincent Probert and Verna Verneta Zephora Taubman Probert. He was raised a fourth generation Probert on the farm in Highland Township in Clayton County.
