O.W. "Bill" Kellogg

Former Guttenberg resident and Press publisher Bill Kellogg died April 29, 2021, at age 95 in St. Louis, Mo. after a brief illness.

Oliver William “Bill” Kellogg was born March 28, 1926, in Humboldt to Oliver Fletcher and Erma (Gossard) Kellogg. He was raised in Iowa, Wisconsin and Nebraska, and attended several schools as the family followed work during the Great Depression.

Nolan S. Hollaway

Nolan Scott Hollaway, 13, of Guttenberg, completed his earthly journey on April 19, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, in the loving arms of his mother.

To honor Nolan’s life, a private family service is being held at a later date.

Arrangements were handled by The Tri-State Cremation Center.

Neil Delois Morarend passed away Friday, April 16, 2021, at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home.

Visitation was Wednesday, April 21, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Guttenberg followed by a memorial service. 

Burial will be at a later date.

Chad M. Kuehl

Chad Michael Kuehl, 45, of Garber, died Saturday, April 10, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospital due to complications of COVID-19.

Visitation was Wednesday, April 14, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg and one hour before service at the church.

Funeral services were Thursday, April 15, at St. John’s Congregational Church in Garber, conducted by Rev. Pam Reinig.

Donna M. Thein, 89, of Guttenberg, died Saturday, April 10, 2021.  

Private family services will be held.  

Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Donna was born in Guttenberg on April 3, 1932, the daughter of Edward and Elsie Winch.

Barbara Ann Walter, 78, of Clive, formerly of Guttenberg, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Walnut Ridge Senior Living Community in Clive.

Visitation will be from 9:30-10:25 a.m., Saturday, April 17, at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home in Guttenberg.

Funeral services will follow the visitation at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Timothy Braun.

Carter J. Cannon

Carter J. Cannon, 18, of Hawkeye, died tragically Saturday, April 3, 2021, rural Sumner, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. 

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 16, at the Arlington Community Event Center conducted by Rev. Ginny Olson. A celebration of life will follow the memorial service at the Event Center from 3-8 p.m. Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Hawkeye is assisting Carter’s family.

Mary Ann (Nelsen) Stegen, long time resident of Strawberry Point, passed away on March 30, 2021, in Lincoln, Neb., of complications from a broken hip incurred in a fall on Dec. 28.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., on Friday, April 9, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Strawberry Point and one hour before services at the church on Saturday morning.

Robert F. Hoffmann

Robert Francis Hoffmann, 91, of Guttenberg, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

Due to COVID-19 concerns there will be a private family service. There will be a public memorial service on Saturday, June 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guttenberg. The family will greet friends an hour before the service at the church.

Inurnment will be at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Guttenberg following Mass.

Lawrence C. Linderbaum, 100, passed away on March 23, 2021, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital surrounded by family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 9, from 5-7 p.m. at the Leonard – Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monona and one hour before services at the funeral home on Saturday. Due to COVID-19, masks and social distancing are required.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 10, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Lynn Noel.
