Jerome “Jerry” Lynn Troester, 68, of Guttenberg, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at the Guttenberg Care Center surrounded by his family.

Visitation was Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg, and one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Feb. 4, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guttenberg.

Interment was at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Garnavillo.

Jerry was born Feb. 22, 1946, on the family farm, in Millville Township, the first born of five sons, to Lester and Jessie (Decker) Troester.

On June 11, 1977, Jerry was united in marriage to Cindy Rohner at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Garnavillo.

Jerry was a 1967 graduate from Guttenberg High School. He worked at the Ertl Company in Dyersville for over 30 years and a few years at Guttenberg Industries.

Jerry enjoyed working on models, doing artwork and decorating for all of the holidays. He also enjoyed his hummingbird feeders.  But mostly he enjoyed being with his wife Cindy and the trips they took all over the United States, including Alaska and Mexico. He also loved and enjoyed his dog, Blackie.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Cindy and their dog, Blackie of Guttenberg; four brothers, David of Vinton, Dayle (Susan) of Manchester, Harley (Nancy) of Dickeyville, Wis., Richard (Vickie) of Shellsburg; his father and mother-in-law, Donald and Janice Rohner of Guttenberg; sisters-in-law, Karla Vogel (Bob Myers) of McGregor and Sandy (Fred) Witte of Dyersville, and brother-in-law, Jeff (Julie) Rohner of Guttenberg and many nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters-in-law, June Troester and Karen (Rohner) Wachendorf; one brother-in-law, Dennis Rohner, and one nephew, Travis Rohner.
