George E. Kydd, 77, of Guttenberg, formerly of Marion, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Mercy Hospital, Dubuque. 

Visitation was Saturday, May 9, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Marion.

Graveside services will be held at a later date. 

George was born Oct. 7, 1937, in Kellogg, the son of Howard and Anna (Neleman) Kydd. He graduated from Kellogg High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served from 1956 to 1960. George married Barbara Hagen on July 20, 1960, at the Methodist Church in Kellogg. He worked with Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids until his retirement in 1997. George was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing. George participated in Ragbrai numerous times with the Toddville Toads. 

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two sons, Dave (Karen) Kydd of Carmel, Ind., and Tom (Danelle) Kydd of Marion; and 10 grandchildren, Bailey, Austin, John, Greg, Meagan, Tyler, Nick, Emily, Ali, and Nate. 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project in George’s memory.
