Benjamin Paul Santosh Combs was born in Satara, Maharashtra State in India on Oct. 4, 1989. He was placed in Preet Mandir orphanage by his birth mother in 1990 and she released him for adoption due to her deteriorating health. 

Benjamin arrived in the United States on April 23, 1993 and was introduced to his adoptive family. He was formally adopted into his new family on April 10, 1994. Ben lived with his family in Portland, North Dakota, Sedan, Kansas, Marshall, Missouri, Waukon, Iowa and then Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin where he graduated from high school in 2008.

Ben loved studying God’s Word and enjoyed Sunday School and AWANA’s growing up and was excited to attend Montana Wilderness School of the Bible for a year after high school. He also studied at Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, Iowa. He earned his Bachelors of Theology diploma from Gethsemane Bible Institute last spring and as he worked a variety of jobs. He was able to serve as assistant pastor at the Southeast Baptist Church in Maple Heights, Ohio.

Ben loved playing his guitar and singing praise songs. He had a heart for people who needed the Lord and loved talking about the Bible. 

He left us much too soon and is survived by his parents, Paul and Carolyn Combs of Prairie du Chien; and his three loving sisters and their families Sarah (Brett) Goodman and their son Sam, New Lisbon, Wis., Hannah Combs, Moorhead, Minn. and Rebekah (Abe) Christensen, Papillion, Neb. Also surviving are grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins all who will miss Benjamin greatly.

Funeral services are pending at the Southeast Baptist Church of Maple Heights, Ohio and a burial service will be held at a future date in Strathcona, Minn. Final resting place will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Strathcona, Minn.
