William “Bill” H. Juran, 82, of Holy Cross, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque.

Visitation was Friday, April 1, at Kramer Funeral Home, Holy Cross and one hour before services at the funeral home.

Funeral services were Saturday, April 2, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Holy Cross, conducted by Rev. Noah Diehm.

Burial was in the church cemetery where military honors were accorded by American Legion Post 137.  

Bill was born June 4, 1933 in  North Buena Vista, Iowa the son of John and Mathilda (Meyer) Juran.  Bill was drafted to the Korean War in 1953 and served until 1955.  He married Virginia Clemen on Aug. 27, 1957, in Holy Cross.  Bill’s work included hauling milk, owned and operated Bill’s Repair Shop, and started farming and was parts manager for Schmitt Implement.  In his spare time he enjoyed horseback riding.  In 2012 he went on the Honor Flight. Spending time with his family was important to Bill, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Virginia; three children, Deb (Dennis) Schmitt of Sherrill, Chris (Diane) Juran of Guttenberg, Steve (Tammy) Juran of Dubuque; seven grandchildren, Becky Schmitt, Rob (Katie) Schmitt, Justin (Stacy) Schmitt, Nicholas Juran, Megan (Adam) Sweet, Ben and Rachel Juran; seven great-grandchildren: Cayden and Grace Burroughs, Brody, Abby, Lucy and Allie Joe Schmitt, Jaelyn Schmitt with another baby Schmitt due in May; a sister Mathilda (Herman) Kloser of Dubuque; in-laws, Donald (Dorothy) Wolf of Sherrill, Kathleen (Al) Trenkamp of Dyersville, Eddie Clemen of New Vienna, LaVonne Clemen of Holy Cross, Madonna (John) Weimerskirch of Dubuque, Roger (Jane) Clemen of Holy Cross, Grace Clemen of Dubuque and Mary Clemen of Suffork, Va.

He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Leonard and Frances Clemen; siblings, Madonna and Fritz Roling, Rosie and Glen Gibbs, Tony Juran, Bob and Donna Juran, Delores Wolf, Joseph Juran; in-laws, Rosie Clemen, Leon, Ambrose, Cletus Clemen and Leon Wedewer.
