Deborah J. Brown, 63, of Prairie du Chien passed away Monday, April 11, at her home following an extended illness. 

She was born Aug. 18, 1952 in La Crosse, the daughter of Charles and Ruby (Anderson) Knudson. She married Ricky Brown on July 2, 1991 in South Tahoe City, Calif. Debbie worked as a medical transcriptionist for healthcare facilities in Oklahoma City, Davenport, LaCrosse, Prairie du Chien and Chippewa Falls. She enjoyed traveling and making her home in the country. She was a pet lover, especially her cats. 

She is survived by her husband Ricky Brown of Prairie du Chien; her mother Ruby Knudson of Mindoro, Wis.; her brother Gary Knudson of Mindoro; her sisters, Diane (Jerome) Zibrowski of Mindoro and Michelle Faust of Portland, Ore.; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Renda Klingbeil of St. Louis, Mo., Daniel (Shelly) Brown, Thomas (Chris) Brown, Michael (Jean) Brown, Douglas (Geri) Brown, Colleen Brown all of La Crosse, Patty (John) Stilwell of DeSoto; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Charles; her father and mother-in-law Ralph and Gladys Brown; brothers-in-law Steven Brown and Dean Dilley.

According to Deborah’s wishes there will be no formal funeral service. She chose to be remembered as she lived. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
