Bernard E. Boylen, 86, of Eastman passed away Monday, April 25, at the Prairie Maison Care Center. 

He was born May 10, 1929 in Wauzeka, the son of Albert and Rosa (Elliott) Boylen. He married Elizabeth O’Shaughnessy on May 12, 1955 at St. Patrick’s Church in Seneca. Together they farmed on DuCharme Ridge near Eastman most of their lives. Betty Sue preceded him in death on Sept. 6, 1994. Bernie loved farming, dancing and especially playing ball. 

He is survived by his daughters, Peggy (Kevin) Keegan of Huntley, Ill. and Theresa (Jeff) Sharp of Onalaska; his sister Rosemary McCarthy of Wauzeka; along with five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his son Gary; his brother Allen and his sister Mary Ley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, April 29, at 11 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Eastman, Rev. Victor Feltes officiating with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday, April 29, from 9 a.m. until the time of services. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
