John Arnold Williams, 61, of Prairie du Chien passed away Wednesday, May 11, at the Crossing Rivers Hospital in Prairie du Chien. 

He was born Feb. 10, 1955 in Platteville, the son of William and Bernice (White) Williams. He served in the US Army National Guard. John married Doris Barr on July 3, 1986 in Reno, Nev. He worked at 3M Company in Prairie du Chien for 35 years until his retirement. He was a talented carpenter and enjoyed hunting and fishing. John was always willing to help where needed; he was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather who will be sadly missed by all. 

He is survived by his wife Doris of Prairie du Chien; stepchildren, Christy (Randy) French of Lake Mills, Loretta (Paul) Manders of Eastman, and Shanon (Stephanie) White of Prairie du Chien; his brother Bill (Joanne) of Beloit, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother LeRoy Williams and an infant sister.

A memorial service will be Monday, May 16, at 11 a.m. at the Bible Baptist Church, Pastor Andy Doll officiating, with interment in the Evergreen Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien. Military honors will be accorded by the Prairie du Chien Honor Guard. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
