Robert E. Overbeck, 61 of Tucson, Ariz., was called to heaven by the angels of God suddenly on May 3, 2016.

A memorial will be held in Guttenberg at a later date.

Bob was born Feb. 16, 1955, in Guttenberg. He was the son of Verni and Elizabeth “Betty” (Nieland) Overbeck. 

Bob grew up in Guttenberg and graduated from Guttenberg High School in 1973. After school, Bob took to the road and traveled to many different places, seeking new challenges and adventures. He met many friends along the way and loved to spend time with them riding on his Harley. He was a very compassionate person who always saw the best in people and would help out family or friend in need without question. 

On Jan. 4, 2000, Bob married Sherry Barnhart. They made their home in Tucson, Ariz. Bob spent his working time trucking. 

Bob will be forever loved by his wife, Sherry; brother, Carl (Sue) Overbeck; and two sisters, Joyce (Steve) Voss, and Mary (Ross) Abbott; one sister-in-law, Jan Overbeck; a very special aunt, Germaine Weyant; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and one brother William “Bill” Overbeck.
