Donald Lawrence Grant, 81, passed away on May 27, 2016, at his home in Sun City, Ariz.

A Catholic Mass will be held on Thursday, June 16, at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, Sun City, Ariz.

He will receive full military honors and burial will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Ariz.

Donald was born in Dubuque on Feb. 22, 1935. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Donald lived most of his life in Northeast Iowa. After a move to Arizona in 1984, Donald opened his own ceramic tile business. Retiring in 1996, he kept busy with his hobby of woodworking, spending his summers in Iowa and the winters in sunny Arizona.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Maureen (Wallace) Grant, his eight children, Donald Grant of Davenport, Jeanne Grant of Peoria, Ariz., Terry (Steve) Edgington of Phoenix, Ariz., Joseph Grant of Lawton, Okla., Edward (Deanna) Grant of Marshfield, Wis., Lora (Randy) Riesing of Glendale, Ariz., Gini Grant of Everson, Wash., and Dennis (Gayle) Grant of Scottsdale, Ariz. Donald is also survived by his 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren as well as his sister, Janet (Grant) Spersflage.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Viola (Cornwell) Grant.
