Robert (Diz) Horsfall, 91, of  Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, March 28, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. 

 

He was born Jan. 12, 1926, the son of Roy and Mary Pearl (Ball) Horsfall in Patch Grove. He graduated from Bloomington High School in 1944. Robert lived most of his life in Prairie du Chien. He married Florence White Krachey and they had five children. He was an avid fisherman and loved to go dancing on Friday nights. His working life was spent as a truck driver. 

 

He is survived by a loving friend (Darlene Kapinus), Madison; four sons, Robert Jr. (Cynthia Riding), of Blue Ridge, Ga., Dennis (Shirley), of Charleston, S.C., Douglas (Sharon), of Lake Villa, Ill., Kevin (Donna Long), of Patch Grove; eight grandchildren; twelve great grand children; four step-great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and five step-great great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers and one sister. 

 

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Evelyn Ross; a daughter-in-law, Melody Horsfall; his parents; three sisters; four brothers; and three step-children.

 

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 1, at 11 a.m., at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Mel Wild officiating with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
