Raymond R. Gander, 82, of Sextonville, Wis., passed away Friday, June 2, 2017, at Harvest Guest Home in Richland Center, Wis., after a long battle with cancer.

Funeral services were Saturday, June 10, at the Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center, conducted by Pastor Gloria Stubitsch. Visitation was before services at the funeral home.

Raymond, the son of Paul and Dorathy (Chroninger) Gander was born April 19, 1935. He grew up in Clayton Township near Soldiers Grove, Wis. Raymond graduated from Soldiers Grove High School with the Class of 1952. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force. He served his country for 23 years. Raymond married Vivian Hocking on Nov. 18, 1961. They were blessed with two sons, Craig and Trent. After the service, Raymond and Vivian retired to Tuscan, Ariz. and moved back to Wisconsin in 1982. 

Raymond is survived by his wife of 55 years, Vivian Gander of Sextonville; his two sons, Craig (Ruth) Gander of Ames, Trent (Bridget) Gander of Holmen, Wis.; two grandchildren, Ella and Nolan Gander of Holmen, Wis.; one brother, Larry (Nettie) Gander of Prairie Du Sac, Wis.; two sisters, Patricia Olson of Viroqua, Wis., Pauline Rieck of Garnavillo; a brother-in-law, Jim (Wendy) Hocking of Lacey, Wash.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers-in-law, Stanley Olson and Jerry Rieck.
