Randy Thomas Meyer, 44, of Guttenberg, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017.

Visitation was Thursday, Dec. 7, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Memorial services were Friday, Dec. 8, at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Harold McMillin.

Inurnment was at Mt. Harmony Cemetery, Elkport.

Randy was born on Dec. 10, 1972, in Elkader, the son of Roger and Patty (Phelan) Meyer. 

Randy grew up in Elkport where he graduated with the class of 1991 from Central Elkader High School. On Sept. 27, 1997, Randy was united in marriage with Margaret Walters at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Guttenberg. Randy worked for many years in the surveillance department for a casino; then later as a Table Games Manager. Randy was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a very proud father who could be found at all of his kids sporting events and school activities. Randy always tried to be a role model by coaching kids. 

Randy will be forever loved and cherished by his wife Margaret; children, Preslie Moser, Thomas Meyer and Savannah Meyer; parents, Roger and Patricia (Patty) Meyer; siblings, Rachel (Scott) Knockel, Rusty (Amber) Meyer; mother and father-in-law, Jim and Joan Walters; favorite aunt and uncle, Cindy and Mike Moser and Robert and Brenda Phelan and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Betty Phelan and Francis and Marjory "Marge" Meyer, and brother-in-law, John Walters.

In lieu of flowers and all styles of sympathy, a memorial has been established and any and all contributions may be sent to 814 N. 2nd St., Guttenberg, IA 52052.
