James Edward Leliefeld, 61, of Guttenberg, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017.

Visitation was Friday, Jan. 5, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg and before services at the church.

Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 6, at United Methodist Church, Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Neil Hofer.

Interment was at Guttenberg City Cemetery.

James was born on Sept. 22, 1956, in Guttenberg, the son of Bernard and Bernita Leliefeld.

James received his education from the Guttenberg School where he graduated with the class of 1974. After graduation James served his country for four years in the United States Air Force. James spent almost 30 years working for Fred Carlson Company and most recently worked for Lansing Brothers Construction and Peter Kann. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Iowa Hawkeyes fan and enjoyed golfing.

James will be forever remembered by his siblings, Dennis (Nel) Leliefeld, Kathy Phelan, Kevin (Beth) Leliefeld, Terry (Mara) Leliefeld and Larry (Rona) Leliefeld; brother-in-law, Bruce Obershaw; many nieces; nephews; relatives and friends. 

James was preceded in death by his parents; sister, LuAnn Obershaw and brother-in-law, Denny Phelan.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for James and all memorials can be sent in his honor to P.O. Box 497, Guttenberg, IA 52052.
