The MFL MarMac boys basketball team cruised past Central 64-41 in a Dec. 22 Upper Iowa Conference match-up. It gave the Bulldogs their third straight win.

The game was lop-sided from the start, as MFL MarMac jumped ahead 13-5 in the first quarter, then pushed the margin to 37-21 in the second. Central failed to mount a comeback in the final periods, losing by 23 points.

The Bulldogs took 16 fewer shots than the Warriors, but were more productive in their attempts, with a 41.7 completion percentage.

MFL MarMac also out-rebounded Central 39-27—another key factor in the game.

Gavin Meana led the Bulldogs with 13 points and also grabbed eight rebounds and a steal. Carver Blietz-Bentien contributed 12 points, to go with nine rebounds, while Cayden Ball chipped in another 12 points—all of which came from behind the arc. His stat line also included four rebounds, three assists and a block. Colin Moses finished the night with 10 points, five rebounds and an assist.

The Bulldogs are now 3-3 overall and improved to 3-2 in the conference standings.

After a week off for winter break, the team will be back on the court Jan. 5, against Clayton Ridge, then head to North Fayette Valley on Jan. 8.
